The surrounding seas and their reefs are widely recognised as having the greatest marine diversity in the world, almost completely free from the negative impacts of commercial exploitation reefs are in pristine condition, alive and teeming with all forms of marine life.

Most dive operators cater for all levels of experience and most have dive gear and other equipment for hire. Waters are warm (25 to 30 degrees) so wetsuits are not a necessity.

Loloata Island Resort - Port Moresby

Port Moresby has deservedly earned a reputation of having the best diving of any Capital City in the world!! Loloata Island Resort is on its own small island in Bootless Bay - just a 30-minute road and boat transfer from Jacksons Airport. Tropical warm water, pristine reefs, dramatic drop-offs and several wrecks. Loloata is definitely somewhere you want to dive from and the nearby sites cater for all levels of experience.

Madang

Madang, like almost anywhere in PNG, has excellent diving - most dive sites are within 10-minutes of the shore. The Madang Resort is the only dive operator in town and they are fully stocked so you can either bring your own gear or hire from them. There are too many dive sites to mention here - spectacular reefs, corals, drop offs, wrecks teeming with life, sites cater for beginner and advanced divers alike. Walindi Plantation Resort

Walindi Plantation Resort is in Kimbe Bay- 40 minutes drive from the Hoskins Airport on the North Side of New Britain Island. The diving is world renowned and many award winning photographs have been taken here. The resort's guest book reads like the "Who's Who" in the world of diving and underwater photography and it has been voted as the "Best Diving Resort" anywhere in the world!! Aside from the jaw-dropping diving, the resort itself is amazing and the staff and their hospitality will ensure your stay is memorable.

Tufi Dive Resort

Tufi is located in Oro Province on the NE side of the mainland of Papua New Guinea approximately 250 kilometres ENE of the capital, Port Moresby.  Tufi Resort is set in a very unique and pristine region of PNG. With its clear waters, this region hosts some of the best diving in the world. From large coral outcrops and shelves to sandy cays, deep fjords and the surrounding rainforests, Tufi is the adventurer’s paradise.

Tawali Dive Resort

Tawali Dive Resort is also in Milne Bay and is the newest of the dive resorts in PNG. Its about an hour an a half from Alotao to the lodge but the ride is well worth the spectacular diving that awaits.
