GOROKA CLASSIC SHOW TOUR
07 September - 20 September, 2007
The Goroka Classic Show Tour is an unescourted 14 day/13 night program. This classic tour begins in Mount Hagen spending the weekend at the resplendent Rondon Ridge in a valley that was unknown to the outside world until 70 years ago. From Mount Hagen the itinerary takes you on a cruise on the MV Sepik Spirit down the mighty Sepik River taking you into the lowland tropical rainforest, an area steeped in mystery for its intricate carvings and incredible traditions. From the Sepik, you fly to Goroka to attend the extraordinary Goroka Show -- a phenomenal and unforgettable cultural experience. The adventure then continues to the Tari Valley to discover the completely different highlands culture of the Huli -- a proud warrior race whose complex society required young bachelors to grow their own human hair wigs, a custom still practised today.
