Wahgi Sing-Sing

Wahgi Sing-Sing Tour 1 June to 10 June 2013

whagi_1.jpgThe Wahgi Show is held in the village of Nondugl - a village where time has stood still. Situated half way down the Wahgi Valley, Nondugl is a village where people still live a subsistance lifestyle, growing their own food and going about their daily lives, much as they have for thousands of years. The Wahgi Cultural Show gives an in-depth perspective into life in the Wahgi Valley, showcasing sing-sing groups mainly from the local area. It is a chance to really experience how the people of the Wahgi Valley live, both in daily life and in times of great celebration.

The Wahgi Sing Sing Program is a 10 day/9 night program that takes you to some of the most remote and isolated parts on spaceship Earth.  The program takes guests to stay in the Wahgi guest house in Nondugl.  Accommodation in the guest house is basic.  Reaching the guest house involves a short 20 min hike up a steep, slippery slope and is only recommended for the more adventurous. Guests will be able to witness a genuine celebration of Wahgi culture and heritage which is the highlight of the program. This is a cultural show that allows intimacy with a people who still live a subsistence lifestyle.
